Rossi Take Pole Position for San Marino

Misano - Valentino Rossi managed to take pole position for San Marino MotoGP race. Yamaha driver was relieved to be sitting on the pole in a dramatic way.

When qualifying session at Misano circuit on Saturday (5/9/2009), near the end, Rossi stuck traffic and record time in order to fall below four Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and Toni Elias.

But Rossi could finally rejoice because of his experiments in final moments with the results. Italian had finally entitled to the first start position; his sixth pole this season.

"It's a nice pole. Not only was this important thing, but when the time left 10 seconds 3 minutes I was stuck in traffic," Rossi said as quoted by Autosport relief.

"I got stuck behind (Chris) Vermeulen who was slowed, and there is also Elias (Alex) De Angelis, etc., are waiting. So I suggest replacing the tires, but I do not know if I can do it on time," he said.

Before coming to Misano, Rossi had blurted out that it was not his favorite circuit. The man was 31 years even sure if he'll lose faster than Pedrosa and Lorenzo. Qualification results changed the way Rossi.

Previously, he was drawing on his helmet with a face of a donkey with the intention of teasing themselves.

When racing in Italy, Rossi is used to replace the picture in his helmet with pictures of interest. No different from when he had to race in Misano, located just seven miles from his village in Tavullia.

This time, Rossi chose to draw his helmet with the figure of a donkey which shows two large teeth. Donkey look at Rossi's helmet is easily visible even when the drivers 31 years passed faster on the track.

So, what he meant Rossi put pictures donkey? According Autosport apparently Rossi wants to tease herself for falling in the middle of the Indianapolis MotoGP on the second position and ultimately failed finish.

In the back of the helmet, written 'The Donkey' with a design similar to the word 'The Doctor' Rossi put in the back part of racing overalls.

In the Italian MotoGP at Mugello this year, Rossi had time to draw a picture of his helmet with a face that screamed.
