New York - Fifth seed Andy Roddick was eliminated in the third round of U.S. Open tournament. In the battle that took nearly four hours he lost five sets of compatriot John Isner.
The second match beating lasted host summit is tight and they have to play the tie break on the set of determination. Isner finally won the duel between the service owner's thunder with 7-6 6-3 3-6 5-7 7-6 in three hours 51 minutes.
Meanwhile Verdasco advanced to the fourth round after the German star dropped, Tommy Haas, a 3-6 7-5 7-6 (8) 1-6 6-4. Success was also achieved leading to over 12 Robin Soderling beat Sam Querrey of the United States with a 6-2 7-5 6-7 (6) 6-1.
Two other leading players who escaped from the third round were Novak Djokovic (4) and Nikolay Davydenko (8). Djokovic won 6-7 (2) 6-3 7-6 (2) 6-4 over Jesse Witten Jesse wildcard players, while Davydenko removed Marco Chiudinelli of Switzerland with a score of 6-4 7-5 7-5.
